Apanui School Fire Replacement

The Apanui School redevelopment was initiated to replace eight classrooms that were destroyed in an arson attack. The project provides the school with modern facilities, enhancing both learning and administrative spaces to meet current educational needs.

Cuesko was engaged by the Ministry of Education to provide comprehensive pre-contract and procurement services throughout the project.

Our role included preliminary cost estimation, detailed design cost estimation, and assistance with tender procurement. Additionally, Cuesko provided post-contract services, reviewing monthly claims and variations submitted by Marra, as well as producing financial reports that forecast upcoming costs and monitor the project’s financial status.

The project presented unique challenges that required careful planning and flexibility such as working around an active school and managing a staged completion.
