The Duke situated on the waterfront in Russell is a hotel steeped in history and intrigue. Located in the beautiful Bay of Islands the Duke of Marlborough Hotel with its award winning restaurant and 4 star accommodation is a great base to explore Russell and the Bay of Islands and all it has to offer.
Our Client’s proposed plan was the construction of an extension at the rear of the existing Duke of Marlborough Hotel, adding an additional 12 room’s. All the while
Keeping the front of house and existing Hotel rooms remained in operation.
Cuesko Limited’s role on the project was for full QS Services including cost estimating during the design phases, construction administration and the Funder’s QS for ASB Bank.
This project was complex on the sense that the final finish of the extension had to tie in with the historical & colonial look of the building yet maintain current fire and building regulations.
The project ran smoothly with clear communication between client, QS and contractor resulting in it coming in on time and under budget.
