Marenui Tunks Reserve & Elizabeth Street

The project was proposed as an access way between the top of Elizabeth Street, down the walkway, and through the recently installed rail underpass.  Linking the recently upgraded boardwalk along the water’s edge to the city center.

Cuesko was engaged by Tauranga City Council to provide pre and post contract services, starting with preliminary and detailed design cost estimates.

Once the design was confirmed we assisted with the Tender and procurement process, providing tender analysis.

Once the site was claimed by CSL we reviewed monthly claims and variations producing financial reports that forecast upcoming costs, keeping TCC informed on the project’s financial vitals.

The project had a few key factors to manage, particularly due to its location at one of Tauranga City Centre’s busiest intersections. Careful planning was needed to maintain traffic and pedestrian flow. To reduce impact on local businesses, the work was staged, with certain tasks carried out at night, allowing businesses to operate as usual during the day.
